ABOUT CRY

Child Rights and You works to ensure children in India their rights to survival, protection, development and participation. CRY as a right-based approach ensures that entitlements are available to all children without any discrimination. They are universal and non-negotiable.
We identify child rights violations and work with the communities to demand accountability from the government and permanent solutions and/or mitigate the impact of deep-rooted problems on children.

To achieve far-reaching impact on a large scale, we enable grass root NGOs by providing them with funds, programme monitoring, building their skill, perspectives and capacities in addressing issues that affect children and their families.

Grant Sanctioning System (GSS):

Grant Sanctioning System (or GSS) of CRY – Child Rights and You, was approved by the Board of Trustees of CRY in 2001 with the objective of decentralizing grant sanctioning internally within CRY and thus building accountability for grant management within the organization leadership.

Within the overall programming framework of CRY, the GSS defines the grant sanctioning and program monitoring systems for the different kinds of partnerships that CRY engages with at the grassroots level. It provides for the protocols and SOP[1]s for the following, with respect to CRY’s interaction with development partners at the grassroots –

a) Different kinds of partnerships that CRY may engage with

b) Selection procedure for different kinds of partnerships

c) Planning, monitoring and evaluation (PME) of the partnerships year-on-year

d) Financial monitoring and audits at project level

e) Grant sanctioning and disbursals

The objective of the GSS

To ensure improvement in process efficiency and time efficiency in grant sanctioning and monitoring through the year.

It is also expected to contribute towards a smarter and more secured documentation and archiving system of all the reports generated, either at the level of grassroots partners or by the Development Support teams within CRY.

That would, in turn, lead to a more optimal deployment and utilization of human, financial and knowledge resources.
